About
My Name is Sam Knight, and I am a Northamptonshire based Singing Teacher, Accompanist and Musical Director. I studied in London where I trained as a classical singer and accompanist.
As a Singing Teacher I focus on building a strong healthy foundation. From my classical background I believe that a classical support system is the key to a healthy long-lasting voice that can work with all genres. I work 1-2-1 with students to build this support system working alongside the songs and genres that they want to learn.
I teach privately at my home in Brixworth and as a peripatetic teacher in two local schools. Within my lessons I accompany for my students, this allows them to take their time when learning new pieces and gives them more creative freedom when working on repertoire. With students, I work with them towards Trinity and ABRSM singing exams, as well as Musical Theatre singing exams that are available. I hold an enhanced DBS certification.
As a Musical Director, I aim to make all rehearsals fun, enjoyable and engaging, while also being time efficient to make sure that material is learnt within the time frame of rehearsals. I accompany for the rehearsals where I am coaching, this allows cast members and myself to take our time when learning the music and making sure that everyone is quite literally singing from the same song book.
As a Choral Director, I make rehearsals fun and enjoyable while also learning music efficiently, making sure all members are happy and confident.
As an accompanist, I am confident at navigating a score and following the singer. For amateur theatre groups, rehearsals, informal concerts, and pit bands I am the perfect pick. I am reliable, efficient and easy to work with.
